Custom Procedures,

For all E.C. citizens a valid passport is required. Alcohol and Tobacco are controlled according to international franchising formalities.

Vaccination,

No vaccination is required in order to visit Morocco.

 

Medical Assistance,

In all Moroccan cities, there are public hospitals, beside private ones run by qualified Doctors, which gives sufficient health care at very competitive prices.

 

Clothing,

In automn you can enjoy good weather, so it is advised to bring tee-shirts, jacket, pullover for possible fresh nights. In La Mamounia hotel, it is compulsory to have a tie and suit to get into its restaurants.

 

National Public Holidays,

The year is ruled by the Gregorian calendar.
The working time is 48 hours per week, with a weekend holiday : Saturday and Sunday.
Some offices allow their staff to extend their lunch break by half an hour to pray on Friday.
RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS : Aïd El Kébir + Aïd El Fitr + 1st Moharam + Aîd El Mouloud.
N.B. : Dates of Religious holidays change according to the Lunar Calendar.
NATIONAL HOLIDAYS : 1st January + 11 January + 1st May + 30 July +14th August + 20 August + 6 November + 18 November

 

Opening Hours,

BANKS/ POST OFFICE / MARKETS / MUSEUM
Banks open generally from 8.30 to 11.30 and from 14.15 to 16.30.
Post offices open from 8.30 to 12.00 and from 14.30 to 18.00.
Markets open generally from 09.00 to 20.00 in Medina areas ; in contrary in modern area they are closed on Sundays, and open during all the week from 09.00 to 12.30 and from 15.00 to 19.30.
Entrance fees to monuments vary from 2 to 5 € (visit of HASSAN II Mosque costs 12 € per person).
Credit cards are accepted in almost all hotels, restaurants and bazaars. Foreign currency may be exchanged in hotels, airports and Banks.
